20/20 FINAL PLACE SECURED
GWCC are through to the final of the Horsford 20/20 competition after comfortably beating Norwich by 34 runs.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, GWCC posted an imposing 204 - 2, with Carl Rogers unbeaten on 72, Shaun Arthurton a swashbuckling 56, Simon Chipperfield blasted a very quickfire 35, and after a circumspect start, Sam Arthurton was not out 29.

Norwich started off like a house on fire, and kept up with the required rate until the halfway stage of their innings, but both Carl Rogers and Jonathon Spelman picked up 3 wickets, and Chris Fuller 2 which saw Norwich dismissed for 170.

The Final is on Friday, July 16th with a 6pm start at Horsford, and we look forward to all GWCC supporters attending!

DREW A REAL PAYNE FOR RICHARDSON
Drew Payne's team won the GWCC Golf Day at Costessey Park, and in doing so prevented Graham Richardson from winning the tournament for the 4th time in a row.

Club Chairman Drew Payne was delighted to pick up the prize, just holding off the team of Robbie Edwards who claimed 2nd place, with Richardson's team in 3rd, just ahead of Cameron Black's side.

It was a sombre Richardson afterwards, who lamented the late call off of his star player, and although he managed to bring in a late "ringer", it wasn't enough.

The longest drive prize was won by Paul Stevens, with Steve Cooper and Alan Crowest picking up the nearest the pin prizes.

Many thanks to Costessey Park for the well turned out course and excellent carvery, thanks to all those who took part and provided prizes, and we look forward to Drew defending his title in April 2010.
